As Dr. Waugh pointed out in his “Capnography Monitoring for Non-Intubated Patients: Does It Improve Safety?” AARC Webcast presentation, the use of non-invasive capnography for patient monitoring is no longer limited to the OR.
In fact, the evidence points to increased use of non-invasive capnography on the General Floor and in Procedural Sedation, the Emergency Department, ICU, and the Sleep Lab.
